Hotline staffers can help voters troubleshoot and resolve a range of issues they may encounter when they cast their ballot. To help, James issued guidance for voters ahead of the election, and a guide addressing frequently asked questions is also available.
“All New Yorkers have the right to feel safe when casting their votes,” said James. “Our Election Protection Hotline will help ensure that every voice is heard – whether you’re voting by mail or in-person on Election Day.”
James said New Yorkers are protected from voter intimidation, deception, and obstruction under state and federal law.
Voters experiencing problems may call the OAG hotline at 866-390-2992 or submit a complaint online to request assistance.
The telephone hotline will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. and will also be available the following day, Wednesday, Nov. 6, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to help voters who need assistance after Election Day.
Written requests for assistance may be submitted at any time through the online form.
